Hello EmbracedBravery Friends!
It’s been quite a journey for me, dear EmbracedBravery Friends. After my last post, ‘Identifying Blooming,’ in April, life took me on a whirlwind. From moving to a new house to diving headfirst into a new job that kept me busy coordinating a kids’ camp and a weekly Friday Night service at my church, it’s been a rollercoaster. And let’s not forget the writer’s block that had me searching for new topics to share with you.
Fast-forward several months, and finally feeling settled in my new home, I am in a better mindset to continue writing to you. I’ve decided to do twenty-nine posts in November (my birthday month) to lead up to my twenty-ninth birthday. Some of you would say it is my “golden birthday,” turning twenty-nine on the twenty-ninth!
I’m so excited to share with you some topics that the Lord has helped me reflect on so that I can continue sharing my journey, perspective, beliefs, and experiences through my life with a disability, but even more importantly, side by side with Jesus. In the past few years, I’ve had some wonderful golden moments, and they have shaped who I am today, but one thing I know about gold is that it is not so easily found. It would help if you worked for it. It would help if you chipped away the outside exterior to see the shimmer we desire. It does not just come out beautiful and ready to mold into jewelry or a pretty piece of art; it must first be crafted little by little to see the glistening.
A little quote I have mounted on my wall is from Joanna Gaines that says,
“There is gold in every piece of your story.” As you read the next couple of posts, I hope that as you read my pieces of gold, you will embrace the pieces God has given you.
