Springing into Spring

in Heartfelt Writings on 04/14/24

Hello Readers!
For the past couple of months, this girl has been in a bunch of transitions that have left us speechless and unable to write like I’ve been trying to do consistently but now your blogger is in Colorado instead of Tulsa Oklahoma! She had been buzzing around trying to pack boxes, undo decor, get her fourteen-year-old dog in a car driving through Kansas, and to put the nice cherry on top find a job! Even with all those happening and some things are begging to settle down I realized how much I missed writing to you! It’s April and that means for Colorado we will get seventy-degree weather some weeks and snow the next which is very confusing after living in Oklahoma and experiencing blooming flowers, cloudy days, and tornados, but I can honestly say I don’t mind not having the siren going off every couple of minutes making me jump out of my skin!

Returning to my home state feels both refreshing and disappointing as I did so enjoy getting all four seasons in Oklahoma, but while unboxing my closet I was able to reflect on Spring differently. Often we get done with the holidays and back to school for some of you and for me, it was back to working with new students in my children’s ministry with some moving up to a different grade and others trying to find their new fit of friends. Everyone I talk to both students and young adults is getting settled into the spring semester and trying to “figure it out” but with that it made me question…

Why do we want to figure it out so fast so badly?

Why can’t we embrace the time to have growth and allow time for us to grow naturally and steadily?

Watching tulips bloom in the spring was something I was able to witness in Oklahoma and like most plants they start underground and eventually start showing some green, green turns into leaves, and then starts the stem, and in a blink, we have petal and beautiful yellow and pinks blossoming tulip. Slowing down and watching these little flowers turn into flowers helped me slow down and truly enjoy the image of the process and how steady this natural process goes. What is something you enjoy watching the process of? As I continue in my spring season I don’t want to miss the growth that God is doing! To embrace growth is not easy and sometimes we will miss it because we think there is something better if we hurry up to the big thing, but God is so good and knows the timing of each detail in our lives. If a flower pops up too fast it won’t last and it won’t get the sun, rain, and soil that it needs to thrive. Isn’t that so true for us?

I won’t have my new life figured out for a while and that’s ok. I may not have friends right away but that’s ok. I may not feel settled right away but until then I can know that Jesus has prepared the soil He has planted for me and that I already have deep roots because of Him. This growing time is slow but so filled with grace. For EmbracedBravery my heart is to embrace each moment as I’ve written before in several of my writings and I can’t even say I’ve perfected it, but each day I am reminded that each day allows me to trust in Him, and when I’m in a hurry to look around me and look at a plant and say, “ok I’m in this state of growth and God’s got me.” And when I start to bloom I will rejoice in the blossoming!

Sometimes we feel like we are the last ones to get somewhere or to see growth in our lives, but are you seeing the beauty in the season of growth? “Every Flower Must Grow Through Dirt.” (Laurie Jean Sennett)

Late Bloomers... ⠀ The average flower takes abou Late Bloomers...
⠀
The average flower takes about seven weeks to propagate from a seed to a sprout, and then into an actual flower and I addition to that it takes about another two weeks for it to bloom to actually become alive and produce a pedal and show its full beauty. So depending on how it takes about nine weeks to fully show all of the colors and fragrances to us, and that would be around two months! And we think that waiting a week is a long time to see things in our life change. ⠀
⠀
Each stage and season of life comes with it’s long and challenging stages, but let’s not forget that the slow and steady make it longer across the race of life. When you feel like you are not moving on where you have been stuck in the same place try these three things and reflect on how it has changed your perspective. ⠀

To Be Continued...
Spring is here and the fields are turning green an Spring is here and the fields are turning green and flowers are beginning to bud. But this year it feels so much more rich and magical especially after last year... but how many of us feel like it’s taken forever to get here? ⠀
⠀
Sometimes we feel in our lives that we are “late to bloom” and we feel like everyone’s life is springing forward but ours. ⠀
⠀
What’s taking so long? ⠀

It’s October... 🍂⠀ When I turn my calendar It’s October... 🍂⠀
When I turn my calendar to October first I immediately begin to look more closely at God’s creation. The evenings turn into dark sparkly nights, the air feels crisp and has a hint of chill, and my favorite part is the leaves changing into enchanting colors of orange, yellow, and purple.⠀
⠀
I’ve been Captivated by His beauty. ⠀
⠀
God wants to captivate us when we spend time with Him and in our daily routine. As seasons in our lives change He wants to captivate those moments to show us something we could not see or notice on our own. ⠀
⠀
What captivates you? ⠀
⠀
Looking at the autumn leaves has me reflect and realize that God makes beauty out of ashes, and that when we see something transitioning (falling away) we can remember that although it was for a season that God will captivate our hearts again. ⠀

• Three Continuous Circling Questions⠀
⠀
We all are on a journey, but what is guiding you? ⠀
What do you carry and bring with you?⠀
When you think of what’s next do you question that path your on?⠀
⠀
All these questions are very real right now in this unknown season, but all these questions need to lead back to one person. Jesus is with you, for you, and will always be beside you. Now, it’s our turn to trust in the path He has placed us on. Do you trust Him when you cannot see?
